Terms of Service

The service

Japan Trip helps you plan a trip to Japan: an itinerary, a map, bookings, a checklist and a tax-free shopping ledger, shared with the people you invite. It is free. New accounts are by invitation.

Your account

Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. One account is for one person. You are responsible for what is done with your account.

Your content

What you put into Japan Trip stays yours. You allow us to store, copy, process and show it as needed to run the service for you and the people you share it with — including having AI models read notes and bookings you import. Only upload what you have the right to, and only add other people’s details, such as a travel companion’s passport name, with their permission.

Sharing

A trip’s owner decides who is on it. Editors can change everything in a trip and viewers can read it; anyone with a share link can join with that link’s role until it is reset. Deleting a trip deletes it for everyone on it.

Acceptable use

• Do not break the law, or use the service to harass anyone or share other people’s personal data without their permission.
• Do not try to reach trips or accounts that are not yours, get around rate limits or quotas, or overload the service.
• Do not scrape the service or resell access to it.

Information is a guide, not a guarantee

Opening hours, prices, routes, travel times, weather, warnings and AI suggestions come from third parties or automated systems and can be wrong or out of date. Check anything that matters with the official source. Tax-free totals and refund estimates are an aid: the shop and customs decide what qualifies.

Availability and changes

We try to keep Japan Trip running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or end features; if we end the service we will tell you in advance where we can and give you a way to get your data.

Ending

You can stop using Japan Trip at any time and ask us to delete your account at privacy@your-japan-trip.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses from relying on information in the service, such as a missed train, a closed venue or a refused tax refund. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will change their date above and ask you to agree again before you continue. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data.
